The problem

Every other tool just hands you presets.

After Effects barely gives you a graph editor at all, just a cramped canvas and a couple of controls. If you've used the graph editor in Maya, Blender or C4D, you know exactly what's missing in After Effects. Citron is that missing editor.

Without Citron

  • βœ• An editor that feels a decade behind Maya, Blender or C4D
  • βœ• Fighting a clunky, cramped graph editor on every shot
  • βœ• No real zoom, pan, or fit-to-view that actually works
  • βœ• Handles that vanish and behavior you have to wrestle
  • βœ• Buying another easing plugin and still not getting a real editor
  • βœ• Curves that feel stiff, like the tool is fighting you

With Citron

  • βœ“ A real dockable graph editor, Maya/Blender/C4D grade
  • βœ“ Every property at once, color-coded, multi-channel
  • βœ“ Real zoom, pan, and fit-to-view that actually works
  • βœ“ Tangent break, weighted tangents, and multiple views (stacked, normalized, absolute)
  • βœ“ A lattice cage to reshape a whole selection at once
  • βœ“ A graph editor that feels fluid and works with you, not against you

Not just ease in, ease out.
The whole curve.

Flow, Kease and the rest hand you a menu of eases.
Citron hands you the actual graph editor the pros use everywhere else.

See it move

If you're serious about animation, you're serious about the graph editor.

What you get

The actual editor.
Not a preset library.

Everything below already ships in the current build. This is the floor, not the ceiling.

A real graph editor

A proper, dockable graph editor built to Maya, Blender and C4D standards. The one After Effects never gave you.

Multi-channel curves

See and shape every property at once, color-coded. Real selection, real navigation, real precision.

The navigation you know

Modeled on Maya, Blender and C4D. Tap F to fit your selection, or the whole curve. Pan and zoom like a 3D artist.

Real tangent control

Break tangents, weight them, auto-bezier by default. Shape the in and out of every key, not just pick an ease.

Multiple views

Stacked, normalized and absolute. Switch how you read your curves to match whatever you're working on.

Lattice / FFD cage

Drop a cage over a whole selection and reshape many curves at once. Bulk timing edits in one gesture.

Add keys on the curve

Click anywhere on a curve and a key appears there, without changing the shape you already made. No more adding a key and watching your motion shift.

Exact frame and value

Type the frame and the value of the selected key instead of nudging it. For the moments when close enough is not enough.

Speed graph

Switch to speed over time. Drag a key to change its speed or retime it, drag the handles to shape the ease.

How it works

Installed and animating in minutes.

1

Install the panel

One installer for Mac or Windows. It drops Citron straight into After Effects.

2

Dock it by your timeline

Open Citron as a panel and dock it wherever you like. No separate app, no export.

3

Select keys and shape

Pick your properties, see every curve at once, and shape the motion with real tools.

Build it with me

You don't just buy Citron.
You shape it.

I'm one animator building this for animators. Hit a bug, tell me. Want a feature, suggest it and vote on what others want. The most-wanted ones ship as free updates. I read every one and build the ones that make Citron better.

Found a bug?

Tell me exactly what broke and when. I read every report and fix in batches, fast.

Philippe Duvin

Hey, I'm Philippe πŸ‘‹

I've been an animator for 25 years. I came up in 3D, on Maya and the rest, and I've spent the last 17 of those years animating in After Effects.

When you come from a 3D package, you know exactly what a graph editor should feel like. You know the features it needs so you can sit in it all day, comfortable, and do real work. The one built into After Effects never came close. It always felt 20 years behind.

So I did what everyone does. I bought the little tools, the ease-in, ease-out preset libraries, the copy-and-paste helpers. They helped, but none of them gave me back the control I had in Maya.

One day I decided to build it myself. I animate in After Effects every day, cutout animation, motion design, all of it, and I wanted the editor I actually wanted. That is Citron. Made by someone who animates for a living and feels the exact pain you do. If you love After Effects but you're stuck with its graph editor, I built this for you.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is this just another easing tool? +
No. Easing tools hand you a library of presets. Citron is a full graph editor, the kind you know from Maya, Blender and C4D. You shape the actual curve, you are not picking from a menu. That said, Citron also ships with a preset library: save your own eases and apply them anywhere, for the days you just want to grab one and go.
Is it really a one-time price? +
Yes. One payment, no subscription, no renewal, and the fast-follow updates are free.
Which After Effects versions does it support? +
After Effects 2024, 2025, 2026 and Beta, on both macOS and Windows.
Mac and Windows? +
Both, day one. One installer per platform.
Will it keep getting updates? +
Yes. Your license includes every Citron 1.x update, free, for as long as Citron exists. There is a public roadmap of free updates already lined up, built from real user requests. You can report bugs and vote on features directly. If a Citron 2.0 ever ships as a major new version, it will be a separate upgrade, with a discount for 1.0 owners.
What if it does not work for me? +
Then tell me. Buy Citron, use it on real shots for 14 days. If it does not earn its place in your workflow, email me and say what did not work. I will refund you, no forms, no hoops. I would rather have your honest note than your money. Write to philippe@animatornow.com.
